LEED AP/PRINCIPAL
Luigi Vitalini, AIA, a native of Rome, Italy and a second-generation architect, was raised in Miami and graduated from the University of Miami School of Architecture in 1987. Licensed since 1992, his architectural approach emphasizes the integration of natural materials and the accentuation of design with soul and essence. This reflects in his dedication to thoughtful, community-enhancing projects and urban planning initiatives.
With over 30 years of experience, Luigi is a passionate advocate for sustainable practices and a distinguished Lead AIA Architect. Holding LEED accreditation, he has contributed his expertise to organizations like the Coral Gables Board of Architects and the South Miami Environmental Review Board. His extensive career includes a diverse range of architectural projects, international design competitions, and numerous urban design charrettes. Despite his many accolades and awards, Luigi remains notably humble to date.
In 2020, Vitalini Architects broadened its scope by launching Nova Domus www.ndmiami.com, a construction management company to enhance service quality and efficiency. This integration improves project coordination, streamlines timelines, and tightens cost control. “By overseeing every phase, from design to construction, the firm ensures the client’s vision is realized with exceptional quality,” Vitalini emphasized. This approach also offers clients a seamless, single-point-of-contact experience, fostering stronger relationships and trust.
Luigi was exposed to the elements of design and craftsmanship at a young age as his father was an architect and inventor with several patents in the USA and Italy. Following college, he worked in his brother’s cabinet shop in Rome, further honing his knowledge of workmanship. This is how he developed skills for creating home furnishings.
Recently, this passion transpired into developing unique custom-made and modular furniture design company named Morto A Galla (MAG) www.mortoagalla.com, crafting sustainable and eco-friendly timeless pieces. Even being honored with an award from the NY Product Design Competition, winning Silver for his patented UNEDO Modular in the “DIY Modular Assembly Furniture” category in 2023.A longtime art enthusiast, Luigi curates and operates a vibrant “Pop Up Gallery” called An EyeDiary in South Miami. The gallery features his own creations and highlights the talents of local artists.
